Organist/Choir Master

To the St. Luke’s family:

I am delighted to introduce myself as your interim Organist/Choir Master. My husband, Joey, who is an Episcopal Deacon, and I moved from New Orleans in late June to be closer to family. I am mostly retired from a long career as a musician in the greater New Orleans area. I have a doctorate in collaborative piano from Arizona State University and have been active as a private piano teacher, singer, music theatre music director, and until this past April, the Sacred Music Director at St. George’s Episcopal Church.

When Deacon Rosemary called me to step in as a pianist for your departing music director, I was happy to help. After having met the wonderful musicians at St. Luke’s, I knew this would be a good place to share my talents. The choir and I are collaborating on fall plans for music, as well as preparing for Advent and a service of Lessons and Carols. We will also be adding other musicians from the community for some special services: November 6 - All Saints Sunday and November 20 – Thanksgiving music and Christ the King.

This is a vibrant time in the church year and prefaces beautifully into the special season of Advent, beginning on November 27. I truly hope you will come to the 10:00 a.m. services and experience the music and liturgy as an active participant in the worship and fellowship of the St. Luke’s community. I hope to meet you all very soon!

Blessings,
Donna Clavijo
